  Contact an LCC Advisor if you are interested in earning an Associate Degree at LCC.  Remember, Summit does not award Associate Degrees and recommends that you meet with an LCC Advisor to review requirements.

• Bookstore:
  There are many ways to purchase books! Other popular sites include Amazon, Chegg, and Book Finder.  Shop Around and use your Book Stipend wisely!
   
• Calendar:
  Learn the important dates for the school year, including closures and finals.
   
• Campus Maps:
  If you have an in-person class, allow plenty of time to park and walk to your class!
   
• Career Exploration Center:
  High-quality career assessment tools, career information resources, scholarship advising, and student employment opportunities to available to help students learn more about themselves, explore their options, clarify their direction, create a vision for their future, take steps toward their goals, and fund their college education.
   
• Center for Accessible Resources:
  Center for Accessible Resources (CAR) coordinates support services and promotes disability awareness in the college community. CAR works with students and faculty to determine appropriate academic adjustments and services for students with qualified documented disabilities. CAR is dedicated to working with faculty and assisting students with disabilities so students can meet academic requirements and goals.
   
• Degrees and Certificates:
  Whether you’re interested in transfer programs, associate degrees, one/two year certificates, or non-credit training certificates, LCC has you covered. Choose your own path to complete your educational and career goals!
   
• SHeD (Student HElp Desk):
  SHeD staff assist students with Laptop and Chromebook loans, Moodle, password issues, WiFi access, Gmail, Google Workspace access and other technical support.  The SHeD is located in the Library, Center Building, 2nd floor. You can get help here in person or get live help remotely in Zoom through the Lane Support Hub.
   
• Student Life:
  The college experience is about more than classes. Learn more about the campus and community and discover ways to get involved on campus (or learn about studying abroad!)
   
• Student Services:
  LCC has resources available, designed to help students meet their basic needs: essential resources needed on a daily/regular basis (including Food, Financial, andCounseling Services!)
   
• Transcript Services:
  Transcripts are a record of classes you’ve taken at LCC and the grades you received in them.
   
• Tutoring Services:
  Utilize the Tutoring Services at LCC to help you be successful in your college classes!
   

What is the difference between Hybrid and Remote classes?  Here are the descriptions for the types of courses at LCC.  With all courses, it is important that you select the type of course you are comfortable taking.  Also, make sure that you do not double book yourself - make sure that you are available for all scheduled (in-person and virtual) class meetings.

• In-person: Courses solely in-person at the days, times, and location listed 
• Hybrid: Courses have online content as well as meet in-person at the days, times, and location listed
• Remote: Courses are held online with virtual lectures at the days/times listed (usually via Zoom)
• Online: Course is fully online - no in-person or virtual meetings
   

I have a disability and need accommodations in my CCC courses - how do I get started?
Contact LCC's Center for Accessible Resources (CAR) as soon as possible to get an initial appointment scheduled:

I keep getting Tuition Statements/Bills from the College - do I need to do anything?
Summit pays our Sponsorship directly to the college AFTER the first college drop date (during the first few weeks of the start of the term).  Students may receive a Tuition Statement/Bill from the college - these are automatically generated by the college for any student that has a balance due.  Student accounts WILL show a balance due until our payment is sent.  You can ignore this and any future statements AS LONG AS the amount does not exceed Summit’s Tuition Cap (this will generally only occur if you are taking extra classes at the college).

I am Waitlisted for a class - what do I need to do?
If you are on a waitlist for a course, it is CRUCIAL that you check your CCC email DAILY!  Lane offers an online Wait List for any full class. If you add yourself to a waitlist in the registration section in myLane, you will be notified if a spot becomes available for you, and given time to add the class before it goes to the next student on the list. The Wait Lists will remain active until the last meeting of the class in the first week of the term, and registration will close unless you get instructor permission after that. If you are # 1-5 on the Wait List, you should attend the class the first week, so you don't miss anything. Please drop yourself from the Wait List if you no longer want the class, to allow others to move up on the list.  Registration for all classes will close at the end of the first week of the term, unless you get instructor permission.

When will I be able to see my classes in MyLane/Moodle?
Classes are available no later than the first day of the term.

How do I get books from my classes?
You will purchase you books and other materials using your Book Stipend each term.  I recommend buying used or renting to save money.  Check out the Beginning of the Year Checklist on the main Early College page for links to help get you started.

I failed a class - how can I get it off my transcript?
Unfortunately, the failing grade will permanently show on your high school transcript and will be included in your high school GPA. On the college transcript, you can retake the course in a subsequent term - once you successfully complete the course, the failing grade will be replaced with an R, which does not impact your GPA.
