STAR Testing

Hello Summit LC Community!

The Star360 Assessment, is a progress monitoring test for all sixth grade through tenth grade students. These assessments help Summit better understand the instructional level of our students in the areas of Reading and Math. The tests are adaptive, adjusting the difficulty as they proceed for each student, providing us an accurate way to identify what skills students are ready to learn. STAR testing is not graded, it is used to track progress and guide planning. Reminder that completion of the STAR test is one of the requirements for eligibility for the $500 reimbursement.

Students complete the test at home, and we ask that parents assist in the role of test monitor. Test monitors help ensure that the student does their very best without help. You may help your child login and select the correct assessment, but no assistance can be given once the test begins. Test monitors should not read questions or prompt the student in any way. If your child is having difficulty with an item, encourage them to choose the answer they think is best and click next to move on to the next question.
